Winter

The Grand Massif ski area is one of the largest, and most scenic ski areas in the French Alps. It is among the Top 5 snow resorts in France. Wherever you go there are stunning views of the Mont Blanc mountain range.

The ski area consists of the 5 villages of Les Carroz, Morillon, Samoens, Sixt fer a Cheval and the high altitude resort of Flaine which are all linked (i.e. no need to walk from one ski area or mountain to another). There are about 265 km of pistes, 77 lifts, 133 slopes with 15 green, 53 blue, 51 red and 14 black along with some of the best off-piste skiing around.

As Les Carroz is situated 1140 m altitude, it is a ski-in / ski-out resort which means you can ski all the way down to the village throughout most of the winter season. Evening ski entertainment certain evenings every week.

Besides downhill and cross-country skiing, the area offers many other activities in the winter such as dog sledding, ski-joering (with horses), ice-driving, snowshoe and snow scooter trails as well as an ice rink in the village centre and a spa, sauna and pool facility.

Less than an hour drive via the E25/A40 motorway from Geneva airport in Switzerland and 6 hours from Paris, it is one of the quickest and most accessible ski resorts in France.
